How to Use
This short guide will walk you through some key features of the Translify extension. It assumes you’ve already installed the extension and completed the initial setup tutorial.
If you haven’t installed Translify yet, head over to the official download page.
How It Works
After installation, click the Translify browser icon in the top-right corner of your screen, then click [Translify Extension Icon], and select Translate to start translating:

Alternatively, just click the Translify shortcut icon on the right side of the page:

You can also right-click on any webpage and select [Translate Web Page/Show Original Text] to translate it.
Prefer using keyboard shortcuts? Here are the defaults:
Alt+A: Translate/toggle the original text. Click to translate, click again to show the original text.
Alt+W: Translate the entire page instead of just the Smart Translate content area.
If these shortcuts conflict with other software you’re using, you can change them by going to [Settings Page - Interface Settings - Shortcut Management] within the extension. Feel free to set them to Alt+Q
, Alt+E
, or any combo that works for you.
YouTube Bilingual Subtitles
Go to any video on YouTube, like this one, and you'll see Translify integrated with the video controls. Click on the Translify icon and make sure [Auto-enable bilingual captions] is checked. If your settings don’t take effect right away, try refreshing the page.

File Translation/Export
You can translate files directly at https://app.translify.ai. Or, just click the PDF/ePub button in the plugin window.

Supported file formats include ePub, HTML, TXT, DOCX, Markdown, SRT, ASS, and VTT.
To translate a file, click "Open File" and choose a file from your device, or drag and drop it into the input area.

PDF Pro Translation
Authenticated and Pro users can take advantage of our advanced PDF Pro translation technology for the best possible results. PDF Pro delivers enhanced accuracy and handles complex files better than regular PDF translation.
You can access PDF Pro translation here: https://app.translify.ai/pdf-pro/
Mouse Hover Translation
Translify allows you to automatically translate any paragraph just by hovering over it. This feature is disabled by default, but you can enable it from the translation panel like this:

Once enabled, press the Shift
key while hovering over a paragraph to see the bilingual translation:

Input Box Translation
You can translate text in any input box! Just type your text and press the spacebar
quickly three times to trigger the translation.
Show Translations Only
By default, Translify displays content in both the original language and its translation, which is great for most use cases. But if you want to see only the translated text, click the Translify icon and choose [Switch to Translation Only Mode].
